MATERIALS:

· Floral bush that includes small size flowers

· 1 yard of 5/8” wide iridescent pearl ribbon*

. 4” length of 24 guage wire* or twist tie

· Corsage pin*

· Floral tape*

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Taping technique: From floral bush, cut flower with short stem. If flower has wired stem, follow taping instructions. If flower has plastic stem without wire, use craft snips to cut an additional 3” length of stem with wire from floral bush.
Use floral tape to attach parts by stretching and wrapping floral tape around base of flower to secure. Then place 3” stem wire along side of flower stem (if needed) and spiral stretch and twist tape down flower stem to cover; cut off excess floral tape.

2. Preparation: From floral bush, cut one small (1 1/4”) flower, two medium (1 3/4”) flowers, and two large (2 1/2”) flowers. Cut additional stem wires as needed. Wrap stem of each individual flower to cover. Stagger and tape two large flowers together and set aside. Cut eight leaves from bush. Make one 3-leaf cluster by staggering and taping three leaves and a stem wire together. Repeat to make a 5-leaf cluster. Cut four 3” length sprigs of baby’s breath. With floral tape, attach to stem wire to make cluster. Repeat to make a second cluster. Floral tape one cluster of baby’s breath to each leaf-cluster.

3. Bow: Cut 6” length wire and set nearby. From 24” length ribbon, measure three 8” intervals and loop to form three circles. Pinch center of circles together to form “figure-eight” and wrap with wire to secure. Add ribbon tails by placing center of an additional 8” length of ribbon under bow loops, and attach with bow wire. Pinch and twist loops to fluff.

4. Assembly: Stagger and tape the following layers of flowers together to assemble corsage: 5-leaf-cluster with baby’s breath, two large flowers, 3-leaf-cluster with baby’s breath, two medium flowers, and bow wrapping to cover ends of all stems. Cut off tape. With craft snips, trim stem ends about 2” below bow; bend stem ends toward corsage. Use glue gun to attach small flower to bow center.

5. Trim bow tails to desired length. Use corsage pin to attach to clothing.
Miscellaneous items: Glue gun and glue sticks* (optional); scissors*; craft snip*; needle nose pliers*; and ruler.
