Classic Beginnings Wine Bag

Materials:

• 2 Yards- 1 1/2" Majestic Wire Edge Ribbon (222-5129-046)

• 3 Yards - 2 1/4" Elegance Wire Edge Ribbon (227-2336-065)

• 1 Card - 26 1/2" Cord with Tassel
  (183-9056-923)

• Needle and Thread

1. Cut elegance ribbon into three 1- yard lengths.
2. Lay one length of ribbon on your work surface.
3. Crisscross the other two lengths of ribbon over the first to form a center star; pin center. (See Illus. 1.)
4. Align wire edges of ribbon and sew seam. (See Illus.2) This step may be done by machine or whip-stitched by hand.
5. Continue to align and sew ribbon edges for a total of 6 seams.
6. Trim top opening of bag with pinking shears.

1. Measure 1 yard from end of majestic ribbon but do not cut.
2. At the one-yard point, fold ribbon into a right angle. (See Illus.1)
3. Fold the top ribbon (The one closest to you) Under the first fold. (See Illus. 2)
4. Continue to fold ribbon ends under one another until ribbon is used.
5. Grasp ribbon ends in left hand firmly (like holding a bunch of flowers.) But not tight enough to crush the ribbon.
6. Release folds and allow ribbon to relax but do not let ribbon ends go.
7. Begin pulling one ribbon end through your hand and watch the folds begin to gather.
8. Continue to pull ribbon until you see your first fold enter the center of your rose and stop. (You should pull approximately one yard through your hand)
9. Starting at the button of your ribbon rose, begin to untwist a few folds counter clockwise, about a quarter turn. Keep ends firmly in your left hand.
10. . As you ascend the stack, gradually untwist less and less so that the center of your rose is tight. (See photo)
11. . Cut wired Rattail into 2- 9" lengths.
12. . Tie off ribbon rose ends with wired rattail and curl. (See photo)
13. . Trim excess ribbon from rose.

1. Cut remaining ribbon into three 8" pieces leaving and 1- 12".
2. Fold 8" piece of ribbon in half.
3. Expose and grasp both wire ends on one side of ribbon.
4. Slowly pull wires together gathering ribbon. (See Illus.2)
5. Twist both wires together.
6. Open ungathered side of ribbon to form leaf. (See Illus.2)
7. Pinch raw ends of ribbon and tie off with remaining wire.
8. Repeat steps 1-7 for total of 3 leaves.

1. Hot glue leaves to underside of rose. (See photo)
2. Hot glue tassels to underside of rose.
3. Hot glue rose to center of 12" piece of ribbon.
4. Insert bottle into bag and tie with ribbon rose.
